Getting Involved

Hosting WebCams on MCF

MCF is interesting in hosting webcams that display scenery from within it's coverage district. Snapshot style webcams, with image updates ever few seconds, are easy to 'plug-in' to the MCF network of views. Ever camera pointing outside (however limited the view) helps the lookout for smoke. All you need is to connect the webcam to your personal computer

We are investigating wireless webcams that require no personal computer to FTP their images. Watch this space for details.

Uploading your images

There are many software packages that allow your personal computer to upload images, from your attached webcam, and most support FTP. Install yours and configure it for the following:

Just numbers/letters, no spaces.
Directory:Leave this blank.
Upload Frequency:15-30 seconds.

Viewing your camera

There are no more steps, that is it! MCF will automatically publish it. Now, to view your camera, visit:

http://www.mtncf.org/webcams/{YourLocationName}
