Key Objectives:- Provide assistance with, and act as an early warning system for, smoke/fire detection.
- Reduce negative effects of smoke on fire fighters & natural environment by tackling fires sooner.
- Ensure cost free to local volunteers and emergency groups..
Concept- Develop a triangulation video/IR system for sighting smoke/fire to emergency services.
- Mount cameras on repeaters and/or local towers.
- Use local volunteers for sighting alerts.
- Use technical volunteers for system design & development.
- Gain support from local organizations & agencies.
- Organize as non-profit group, independent of MRIC.
- Consider adding future related applications that provide local community service.
